Sadie

Updated: Nov 21, 2024

(Participant of enrichment and summer camp with Parent testimonials.)

Meet my daughter Sadie, a sweet, creative, and hardworking young lady who lives in Henrico County. Her passions include jewelry, graphic design, superhero shows, and collecting Squishmallows.

Sadie was born with a neuromuscular condition that causes muscle weakness, balance problems, and coordination difficulties. She uses a wheelchair to get around. Her journey has been challenging, yet she always finds the silver linings in life.

My daughter has a support network, but as a social butterfly she needed more opportunities to help her thrive. Unfortunately, inaccessible activities and events in our area limited Sadie’s options to have fun and meet new friends.

Then we discovered Jacob’s Chance, which opened the door to a whole new world of adventure.

Sadie has been participating in Jacob’s Chance for several years now. This organization is adept at addressing her unique needs in a social setting. Jacob’s Chance has positively impacted my daughter’s life in three significant ways.

Fun! Sadie loves the variety of activities offered by Jacob’s Chance. She enjoys their arts and crafts, karaoke, improv, and holiday events. Jacob’s Chance also provides adapted physical activities such as dancing and sports to help her achieve her fitness goals.

Accessibility! Jacob’s Chance hosts events in places that are easy for Sadie to navigate in her wheelchair. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate her physical needs. They help me out, too, whether it’s as simple as providing a chair while I wait onsite or something more complicated, like accommodating Sadie’s equipment needs. Jacob’s Chance is a very parent-friendly organization.

Community! Jacob’s Chance—an organization filled with supportive, enthusiastic, and dedicated staff and volunteers—welcomes every participant with open arms. The activities provide ways for Sadie to build confidence, increase her self-esteem, and expand her social skills. It’s also a community where she feels accepted, validated, and special.

In a world where folks like Sadie are at a constant disadvantage, Jacob’s Chance is on a mission to make a difference. I support this organization’s cause because everyone deserves to have fun in a safe, welcoming space. Sadie’s experience is a prime example of how inclusiveness matters.

All the best,

Heather Massey

This was a very meaningful and engaging post that I found extremely useful. The clear explanations and practical advice made the article informative without being overwhelming. I especially liked how the author focused on helping students understand the topic rather than simply presenting information. During my search for reliable academic support, I also came across Assignment In Need, a trusted assignment helper that many students rely on for guidance. Posts like this make learning more enjoyable and encourage students to stay committed to their educational journey.
